The Strangest Things Happen

So yesterday I chose names for the characters of that new novella I’m writing at the moment.

Today I started reading A Critical Companion to Beowulf by Andy Orchard, and on page 12 I found this:

“Although the combined manuscript apparently passed into the possession of the British Museum soon after its foundation in 1753, it had by then already suffered greatly, most seriously in the calamitous fire that swept through the Cotton collection on Saturday, October 23, 1731, damaging or destroying around 200 items when they were stored at the ominously named Ashburnham House.”

A bit eerie, isn’t it?
