More China

You totally must move to the Rhine-Main area: I now need plenty of occasions to host dinner parties. *g*
Wedgwood, River Scene

Royal Tudor Ware, Coaching Taverns

Myott, Tonquin (my favourite among this bunch!)

Broadhurst, Constable Series

I can’t wait to get these goodies! (And please consider moving to Frankfurt…)

I suddenly remembered how, when I was a small child who didn’t always want to finish her meals, my mother would encourage me to keep eating, so that I could see the teddy bears that danced around the bottom of the bowl.

I wonder if, at your dinner parties, people will eat more quickly than usual so that they can find out which picture they have on their plate.

In that case it would begin to make one think about the Mad Hatter’s Tea-Party. Quite a bit of plate-swapping happened on that occasion, though admittedly not right at the beginning.

So if people do decide to plate-swap perhaps you’d better err on the side of caution and check your tea sets to make sure there isn’t a dormouse inside one of the teapots.

At the moment, my Old Britain Castles teapot is inhabited by artifical flowers (as far as artifical flowers can inhabit anything, given that they’ve never been alive in the first place) and resides on one of the sideboards in the sitting room. Quite decoratively so, if I may say so myself.

Speaking of dormouses, I’ve been thinking about letting one of my future characters have a wombat. Rossetti had one.
