When the photos had only just started to load, I thought “Oh no! One of Sandra’s special new plates must have cracked!”
Then I was able to look at them in more detail. Are they side plates designed as receptacles for olive stones and other unwanted bits from the main meal? Or are they for putting bits of bread on? And how many would you expect to put alongside each round plate?
It seems such bone dishes were introduced by the Victorians. And you would have had one dish per plate (at least that’s what I assume; I need to do some further research on that subject 🙂 )
