Checked the Molasses

As mentioned in the comments below, last night I searched “molasses” in the Online Otymology Dictionary to check whether that stuff was already known in the Regency. Apparently, it was. Yay for me! 🙂

    The things you can do with the byproducts of alcohol fermentation, eh? That’s something you might want to check on, though. I know they were certainly using it for cooking in the Victorian period, but I’m not sure whether it was a new-fangled thing at that point or whether it already had a long acceptance.
