Booklover Conference 2006 in Wiesbaden

At the end of April German romance fans will once again flock to the hotel “Schwarzer Bock” in Wiesbaden to attend the 2006 Booklover Conference — the only romance conference in Europe. And since Wiesbaden is just around the corner from where I live (okay, okay, not literally around the corner) — guess who’s going to attend! :O)

The focus of this year’s conference is on paranormals, thus one of the special guests will be Sherrilyn Kenyon — how cool is that?

Now, as to your bumbling newbie authoress extraordinaire, she is going to give a workshop on researching a historical novel (“Auf den Spuren der Vergangenheit”) and to moderate a reading as well as the big, bilingual end-of-conference discussion. So it looks as if things are going to be great fun indeed! (And, if you’re so inclined, you can stalk poor, hapless male models, too … *g*)

    Thanks, Jolie! 🙂

I’m afraid I have to disappoint you, though, as far as the Lebkuchen go: no Lebkuchen in spring. Only before Christmas. Hmph.

Does around the corner mean, you host all your blogreaders during the conference? That’ll be fun 🙂 A bunch of authors packed in your apartment with your cats. I guess, I would like to reserve a place, too, ‘cos I’m not into stalking male models, and I can’t see, why only you should get all the fun.

Ok, that was the most redicolous comment on my behalf. Delete it if you like. Still, I wish you a great conference.

P.S.: Would my chances of attending rise, if I saved some Lebkuchen till the end of April? I still have some in stock.

I have three star-shaped Lebkuchen left in my pantry. 🙂 I’ll scarf them soon.

What about glowwine? (I know I’m spelling that wrong!) Yum! Good stuff.

Sandy — will you make it to RWA in Atlanta this summer?

Richard, have I understood this correctly: you plan to stalk hapless romance authors on my blogparty??? And this from one of my oldest friends! Truly shocking! 😛

Jolie, yes, I plan to go to Atlanta in July. *doing a happy dance* I’m sure it’s going to be great fun again! And I hope they’ll accept the workshop proposal I handed in … hmm …

As to the Glühwein — well, even though that’s definitely pre-Christmas, too, I guess we could do something about it. 🙂 And if we don’t find Glühwein, we’ll have a Feuerzangenbowle: you heat wine with spices and orange slices, put a cone of sugar on special tongs over the wine, pour rum (I think) over the sugar and then light it. When the whole burning sugar has melted and dropped into the wine, the thing’s done. 🙂

That sounds like fun Sandy! Sorry I didn’t comment before but it was being really slow that day.

I’d love to attend your workshop, even if I don’t write, it should be interesting. Of course, stalking male models doesn’t sound bad either. ^_^

Too bad Germany is so far away.
